Patient Information

Our Interventional Radiologists meet with patients prior to their procedures in order to discuss necessary information and answer any questions about custom treatment plans. These meetings may take place during an office visit prior the procedure or at the hospital on the day of the procedure.

Pre-Op (day of procedure)

Depending on the type of procedure, patients must arrive at the hospital and register between 30 minutes to 2 hours before their scheduled procedure time. Our team will prepare patients for their procedure and answer any additional questions.

Procedure

Most interventional radiology procedures are completed within 60-90 minutes. However, patients may spend several hours in the lab as our team prepares them for the procedure. We do our best to make sure patients are relaxed and comfortable.

Post-Op

After the procedure, patients may move to ambulatory care for recovery. Depending on the procedure, some patients are admitted for overnight observation at the discretion of the Interventional Radiologist. Nurses will discuss recovery expectations with patients and their caregivers.

Results

Results are provided to your doctor typically within 48 hours of your visit. Studies are read by a board-certified radiologist with North Oaks Imaging Associates. Your images are available to your doctor in a CD format upon request.
