Blood Donations
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs lifesaving blood
Blood shortages can happen at any time, and blood donations are needed year-round. A low blood supply can negatively impact North Oaks’ ability to provide lifesaving patient care. Help save lives by donating blood and encouraging your friends and family to donate too. Donating blood is quick, safe and easy.
Blood donors of all types are needed to ensure the supply is available when its needed. You can visit any location of The Blood Center at your convenience using the code “C736” for North Oaks to receive donation credit.
Who Can Donate Blood:
There are requirements that donors must meet to donate blood. Most people can donate blood every 56 days, up to six times a year, if they meet the following criteria:
- In good health and feeling well
- Be at least 17 years old; and
- Weigh a minimum of 110 pounds
- NOTE: 16 year olds may donate as long as they weigh at least 130 pounds and have signed parental consent.
