Update: September 8, 2020

Today’s Thought of the Day: If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, keep moving forward.

  • State Stats: Louisiana has had 153,177 positive cases and 4,942 reported deaths. Today, 787 patients are hospitalized, with 124 of them on ventilators. Hospitalizations are down approximately 1/3 over the last two weeks. The Governor will update us this afternoon on if and when we will be moving from Phase II to Phase III.
  • North Oaks Stats:
    • North Oaks has 10 COVID-positive patients in-house with 1 on a ventilator. We’ve tested 11,848 patients, with 2,013 positive and 44 results pending. We have successfully discharged 483 COVID patients.
    • NORH has 15 patients and zero COVID-positive patients.
    • Hood has 19 patients and one COVID-positive patient.
  • Reminder: This weekend is Payroll Sunday. Please submit your payroll by 10am on Sunday. The next check is the first check under the new Infor system.
  • Employee Wellness reports they returned 4 employees to work on Friday. There are 18 employees out monitoring symptoms; 5 are RNs and 2 are respiratory therapists.
  • Nursing reports staffing remains tight due to high census of non-COVID patients.
  • Clinic volume still steady, but Walk-in volume was down this weekend, and the COVID hotline received only 29 calls all weekend.
  • OR volume down slightly, which is expected for September.

Thank you all for the great job you are doing!
