Updated 11:45 a.m., 4/16/2020
- Today is Thursday, April 16, 2020. It’s also National Health Care
Decisions Day. This is a great time to remind friends and family to talk
with their loved ones about their wishes if faced with a life-limiting
injury or illness.
-
Michele announced that the Employee Emergency Relief program will be extended
through the April 30th pay period. Employees will receive 40 hours of PTO in their bank, and
furloughed employees can apply those hours toward that pay period.
- State Stats: 21,951 CV-19 cases diagnosed in 64/64 parishes; 1,103 deaths.
There are 1,943 patients currently hospitalized, with 425 on vents.
- North Oaks Stats: We have performed 1,470 tests with 334 positives; 199
tests are pending. Response time is lengthening as Quest gets busier.
We received word from LDH that the Governor has successfully procured
some point of care testing machines, and we expect to receive one of them
shortly. Hopefully we will also receive a supply of testing kits to use
with the machine.
- North Oaks has 31 CV-19 positive patients with 9 patients under investigation.
Three (3) patients are on vents. We have successfully recovered and discharged
another 4 patients, bringing our total of recovered CV-19 patients to
79. We had one CV-19 related death yesterday.
- Population Health handled 70 calls yesterday and performed 21 video visits.
The drive through testing station did 37 tests. Due to the low supply
of nasal swabs, testing at the drive-through is suspended today.
- myChart video visit rollout is continuing at NOPG. It’s going well.
Volume is down in the walk-in clinics.
-
On Monday, April 20th, North Oaks will be celebrating our 60th anniversary. While we have to postpone our celebration, Board of Commissioners
chairman Ron Macaluso has donated money to purchase lunch for the day
shift and dinner for the night shift. Since our celebration is delayed,
we will postpone announcing our “of the year” winners at an
event in June/July (hopefully.)
- Employee Wellness reports that 26 employees are home self-monitoring and
2 employees were cleared to return to work yesterday.
-
All staff accessing isolation rooms need to be fit testing for our new
supply of N95 masks. Please report to the 5th floor tower conference room to be tested.
