Update: September 15, 2020

Quote of the Day: Don’t worry; be happy!

  • Hurricane Sally
    • Sally is still moving very slowly, and ended up tracking East. We may still experience intermittent rain and wind. Tangi waterways remain closed due to high water levels.
    • We are planning on business as usual tomorrow.
    • If there are employees who need to shelter in place, please work through the house supervisor to make arrangements.
    • The Command Center has been closed.
    • Complimentary meals for employees will be served through dinner tonight in the cafeteria.
  • COVID-19
    • State Stats: 157,955 COVID cases (up 2,992 since Thursday) with 5,082 deaths (up 112 since Thursday). There are 664 COVID-positive patients in hospitals (down 118) and 105 on vents (down 18.)
    • North Oaks Stats:
      • NOMC: We have 12 COVID-positive patient in-house (up 5 since Thursday), 1 PUI and 2 patients on vents. We have successfully recovered 491 COVID patients (up 5 since Thursday). Sadly, we have had 3 additional COVID-related deaths since Thursday.
      • NORH: Census is 15, zero positive patients, 1 PUI.
      • Hood: Census is 15, 3 positive patients.
    • Employee Wellness reports 18 employees were returned to work Friday/Monday. We have 14 employees out monitoring (5 RNs and 1 Respiratory Therapist).
  • In other HR/Payroll news:
    • Thanks to all our supervisors for approving payroll early. The extra time was used to double check the processes in the new Infor system, and the file is being sent to financial institutions on time today.
    • Our paystubs will look substantially different. If you have any questions about payroll, you can call 985-230-HELP Wednesday – Friday.
    • On Thursday starting at 10 a.m. there will be staff available in the HR conference room (3rd floor, MOB) for anyone needing in-person assistance.
    • There was a public notice last week that Mass Mutual retirement services will be transitioned to Empower. We expect the transition to be quite smooth, but more information will be shared as it becomes available.
