Surgical Services Nurses Alicia, Nicole and Tara Receive Extraordinary Story Award

No matter where North Oaks Nurses find themselves, their calling to help others is strong.

A trio of Surgical Services Nurses recently came across the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Orthopaedics/Neuro Unit Staff RN Nicole, Surgery Unit Staff RN Tara and Endoscopy Staff RN Alicia quickly jumped into action to help Fire Department personnel care for the victim’s injuries, reduce blood loss, monitor vital signs and provide comfort until Acadian Ambulance Services arrived on the scene. They continued to assist EMS after arrival, even helping to transfer the victim to a stretcher for transport to the closest ER. Nicole, Tara and Alicia’s selfless actions played a key role in the victim’s ultimate survival and ongoing recovery from such a horrific tragedy.
