Aadit Patel, MD, Joins North Oaks Surgical Associates

Board-certified and fellowship-trained Plastic Surgeon Aadit Patel, MD, will join North Oaks Surgical Associates in Hammond effective Aug. 5. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Patel, call 985-230-2778.

Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and comes to North Oaks from the Tulane University/Ochsner Clinic Plastic Surgery Residency program in New Orleans. Drawing upon his expertise in reconstructive surgery, he will work closely with the North Oaks Breast Care Program team to help patients navigate the challenges of diagnosis, treatment, recovery and support if cancer is discovered.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Dr. Patel graduated from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in history before earning a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. During his undergraduate years, he worked as a health policy analyst and writer for the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, as well as a public policy researcher for UCLA Center for American Politics and Public Policy and research assistant for the UCLA Neuromuscular Research Laboratory.

After graduating magna cum laude with his medical degree from St. George’s University/Northumbria University in Grenada, West Indies, he completed a residency in general surgery through Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. While he was a general surgery resident, he continued to fuel his passion for investigation and analysis by engaging in a research-based fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York.

Throughout his college and medical school years, Dr. Patel volunteered his time to make a difference for others. Endeavors ranged from serving as a mathematics tutor and basketball coach with New York Cares in the Bronx to a peer drug counselor with the Changing Lives homelessness charity in New Castle, United Kingdom (formerly known as The Cyrenians). He also gave of his time as a summer camp counselor with Unicamp in San Bernandino, California.

Dr. Patel is joining General Surgeons Daniel A. Linarello, MD, FACS, Elizabeth Hayes, MD, Dorothy A. Lewis, MD, FACS, and Jennifer Owens, MD, FACS; and Nurse Practitioner Jodee D. Bernier, FNP.

North Oaks Surgical Associates has locations in Tangipahoa and Livingston parishes. The Hammond clinic can be found in Suite 108B of North Oaks Office Plaza at 15770 Paul Vega, MD, Dr. on the North Oaks Medical Center campus in Hammond. The Livingston clinic is in Suite 210 of North Oaks-Livingston Parish Medical Complex, 17199 Spring Ranch Road in Livingston. Clinic hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm weekdays.
