for their babies. While breastfeeding is nature's way of giving your baby
the perfect nutrition, it's a learned skill that can require
education, practice andsupport. Our lactation consultants are specially trained registered nurses who
support and guide you throughout your breastfeeding journey.
Our free services include:
Prenatal breastfeeding classes: Prepare for your breastfeeding journey and enroll in these classes where
you will gain a basic understanding of breastfeeding and learn about proper
positioning, nutrition, pumping and storing milk.
Inpatient consultations with all nursing mothers
Pumping assistance/breast pump instruction
Follow-up phone call after leaving the hospital
Problem-solving, such as troubleshooting difficult feedings
North Oaks Lactation Outpatient Consultations:
A service provided postpartum
Patients who deliver at North Oaks receive these services free of charge
Patients who delivered elsewhere will be charged $75.00
