Dr. Tyler Scott Joins North Oaks Orthopedic Specialty Center in Hammond

North Oaks Health System is proud to welcome fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon Tyler M. Scott, MD, to the team at North Oaks Orthopedic Specialty Center in Hammond. He is accepting new patients ages 18 and up.

Born in Hammond, Dr. Scott took the first steps towards his medical career as an operating room assistant at North Oaks Medical Center. Now a highly trained orthopedic surgeon, he specializes in hip and knee joint reconstruction surgery.

“North Oaks is where my story began. I was born here and worked in the operating room before medical school,” Dr. Scott explains. “Now, as a joint-replacement surgeon, I’m giving back to the community that shaped my journey.”

Dr. Scott is passionate about helping patients relieve pain caused by orthopedic joint issues, regain mobility, and improve their overall quality of life. From before the procedure to post-operative care and follow-up, his goal is to empower patients to make informed decisions about joint replacement surgery options while keeping the process as smooth and comforting as possible.

“Nothing is more rewarding than seeing someone walk without pain,” Scott enthuses. “The field of hip and knee replacement surgery captivated me because it offers a profound opportunity to alleviate debilitating pain and restore mobility, which is essential to an individual's independence and overall quality of life.”

Following graduation from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Dr. Scott completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Colorado in Denver, serving as chief resident and in several other leadership positions. He also completed an adult construction fellowship at the Southern Joint Replacement Institute.

North Oaks Orthopedic Specialty Center has locations in Hammond and Livingston.

The Hammond clinic is located in Suite 100 of North Oaks Office Plaza at 15813 Paul Vega, M.D., Drive. The Livingston clinic is located in Suite 100 of North Oaks-Livingston Parish Medical Complex at 17199 Spring Ranch Road in Livingston.

Clinic hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays.
