Nurse Residency Program
The Nurse Residency Program at North Oaks Medical Center is a program designed
to support nursing school graduates as they transition from the classroom
setting into their first professional nursing role.
Program Features
- The program is one year in length and is supplementary to hospital/nursing
orientation and specialty training courses. New Graduate Nurses are hired
into all clinical areas, including specialty areas, depending on need.
- Program includes all RN and LPN’s with 6 months or less of acute
care experience.
- You do not have to apply, you are automatically placed within the program
except: 1. PRN status or 2. RN with LPN experience. In those instances,
the nurse residency coordinator and manager of hiring unit would discuss

- Seminars are 4 hours in length and are scheduled monthly. Time is built
within the monthly seminars as “Clinical Reflection Time.”
