Louisiana Military Order of the Purple Heart
& Auxiliary

They are the state-level branch of the national, Congress-chartered organization made up exclusively of combat-wounded veterans who have received the Purple Heart. It is dedicated to honoring their sacrifice by fostering camaraderie among recipients, advocating for veterans’ benefits, and engaging in community service.

This volunteer-led body supports veterans by “assisting, comforting, and aiding all distressed members and their dependents,” volunteering with wounded service members and their families, and raising funds for veteran welfare and rehabilitation.
