Baby New Year 2022 Arrives at North Oaks Medical Center

At. 4:54 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Jamia and Daylan Williams of Ponchatoula celebrated the arrival of their first child as the first baby born at North Oaks Medical Center in 2022.

Baby girl Brailynn Williams was originally due on Jan. 4, but she arrived four days early on Jan. 1 to ring in the New Year with her parents. Brailynn was delivered by Obstetrician/Gynecologist Carissa May, M.D., and weighed 7 lbs., 11.8 oz. with a length of 19 ¼ inches.

North Oaks Women & Children's Services team presented the family with a “welcome basket” filled with baby care essentials and supplies, as well as a book, swaddling blankets, a keepsake frame and custom “North Oaks Medical Center Baby New Year 2022” onesies.

Clearly smitten by his daughter, Daylan Williams proudly shares, “I was the first one to hold her, and I couldn’t stop looking at her.”

Both Jamia and Daylan are hopeful for a continued healthy future for Brailynn and plan to encourage and support her to become the best version of herself as she grows up.
