Positive Patient Experiences Earn North Oaks National Acclaim for Sixth Year in a Row

For the sixth consecutive year, patients’ feedback about the exceptionally consistent care they received at North Oaks has earned the health system’s network of primary care and specialty clinics national acclaim.

“My provider listens, empathizes and gives honest, sound information!”

“The staff works well together. I'd definitely recommend this practice to anyone.”

“My provider is concerned about my well-being.”

“No delays. Always prompt.”

“It’s the worth the drive just to have my provider care for me.”

“I wish all hospitals and clinics ran their offices with the professionalism demonstrated at North Oaks.”

These comments and others like them showcase the patient care that has earned North Oaks clinics the prestigious 2020 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award®. The clinics also received Guardian of Excellence awards in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015.

According to Michele Sutton, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of North Oaks Health System, the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award® represents important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the delivery of care.

As recipients of this award, North Oaks’ clinics are ranked among the top 5% of the nation’s health care services in sustaining the highest level of patient satisfaction during a one-year period from May 2019 to April 2020.

“Taking care of every patient as if they are family is a privilege,” notes Nicole Hills, a medical assistant with Northshore Urological Associates. “Receiving our sixth consecutive Guardian of Excellence award confirms that our patients love us just as much as we love them.”

Samantha Smith, a medical assistant with North Oaks Rheumatology Clinic agrees, “It’s nice to know that our patients appreciate our partnership as much as we do.”

“Working in an environment that is patient-centered gives us the ability to focus on each person as an individual,” explains Matthew Rabalais, practice administrator for North Oaks ENT & Allergy. “Winning the Guardian of Excellence for the sixth year in a row demonstrates our compassionate culture as a whole. We want everyone’s experience to be a great one!”

North Oaks Orthopedic Specialty Center Nurse Practitioner Janet Morse points to the award as validation of the clinic network’s continued commitment to excellent care for patients. “We will continue to strive for individualized care and excellent outcomes,” she asserts.

“The caregivers and staff of North Oaks Physician Grouptouch the lives of patients and their families in profound ways,” affirms Patrick T. Ryan, chairman and chief executive officer of Press Ganey. “This award reflects their deep commitment to listening to the voices of their patients and our shared mission to reduce suffering and improve the safety, quality and experience of patient-centered care. I continue to be humbled and inspired by their heroic efforts to care for patients in the face of the uncertainty, stress and fear brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Press Ganey is proud to partner with them in this noble work, and we congratulate them on this tremendous achievement.”

Press Ganey partners with more than 33,000 health care facilities — including more than one-half of all U.S. hospitals — to measure and improve the patient experience.

North Oaks Physician Group offers a network of five primary care, three walk-in and 24 specialty clinics staffed by nearly 100 providers across Tangipahoa and Livingston parishes.
