Human Resources Generalist Connie Honored as Employee of the Month

Human Resources Generalist Connie has received North Oaks Health System's Employee of the Month Award for November 2020.

Connie joined the North Oaks Employee Services team as a Human Resources Generalist in 2014 with nearly two decades of prior experience in the field. She takes great pride in helping to carefully select candidates for employment who meet and exceed the North Oaks standards of behavior of compassion, courtesy, commitment and communication.

“I love being around people who enjoy helping others and care about each other. That’s the culture we share here at North Oaks,” Connie shares.

Connie earned a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology through the University of Phoenix based in Tempe, Arizona. She also attended Southeastern Louisiana University and the Baton Rouge General School of Nursing before ultimately finding her calling in the Human Resources field.

Her personal motto is, “Be kind and do at least one thing for yourself each day that makes you happy. Life is short. Make the most of every day!”

A resident of Ponchatoula, Connie is very proud of her daughters, Cristin and Cari, and her granddaughter Lillian, who will soon celebrate her first birthday.

As pastimes, Connie likes to paint, take on home improvement projects and landscape—as long as the frogs, snakes and lizards stay away!

“Connie consistently goes above and beyond to make sure the needs of our applicants, employees and hiring managers are met," asserts Employee Services Director Tracy Pettigrew. "Not only has she been instrumental in helping us adapt to a virtual recruitment world this year, but she also assisted with planning our first socially distanced onsite job fair. Connie strives to make new hires’ onboarding experience positive in every way! Her professionalism and enthusiasm make her a true asset to our team! I am honored to work with her every day!”
