Internal Medicine physicians are key providers of comprehensive care for patients both in the outpatient and inpatient settings.

Our rotations offer essential exposure to common and complex medical conditions.

All residents will undertake rotations at North Oaks Medical Center, gaining invaluable experience in a real-world clinical setting.

Rotations At North Oaks: What To Expect

During rotations at North Oaks Medical Center, residents will:

• Hone their skills in patient history taking and physical examinations.
• Develop diagnostic plans and manage a broad spectrum of diseases and medical conditions.
• Encounter rare medical conditions and work closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with complex needs.
• Learn and become proficient at procedures that will be utilized in their future practice.

Didactic Learning and Continuity Clinics

Residents will have protected didactic time with noon conferences and morning reports on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

• Noon conferences include lectures from faculty, case presentations, journal club, M&Ms (Morbidity and Mortality), and question reviews.Each month, the noon conference will also include a wellness activity.
• Residents will take part in the continuity clinic, where they will have their own panel of patients that they will follow throughout their residency, giving them exposure to managing patients and their conditions longitudinally. They will have one full day of continuity clinic a week while not on inpatient rotations.
• The program requires and utilizes MKSAP, provided by the program, to prepare for ABIM certification. UpToDate is also provided by the institution.

NOTE: The program is newer and currently in its second year. Feedback taken from residents and faculty helps us make changes in operations for the improvement of the program. These operations are subject to change.
