Our Mission
The mission of the North Oaks Internal Medicine Residency Program is to
train outstanding internists who are committed to improving the health
of our patients and communities.
We foster an environment that promotes wellness for
both healthcare providers and patients, integrating the diverse backgrounds and life experiences of our residents,
staff, and faculty.
Our program is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, cost-effective
healthcare, particularly in rural and underserved areas. We achieve this through interprofessional collaboration and the use of
advanced technology.

As a North Oaks internal medicine resident, you will:
- Practice comprehensive internal medicine, emphasizing excellent clinical
skills and patient-centered, culturally aware, high-value care
- Pursue subspecialty training or practice primary care or hospital medicine,
based on individual career goals
- Understand and engage in clinical research, patient safety, and quality
improvement initiatives
- Lead and participate in quality improvement efforts that promote optimal
systems-based care
- Commit to lifelong learning and teaching
- Demonstrate compassion for patients, respect for healthcare team members,
and empathy for the community, with a particular focus on underserved
populations
- Collaborate with and effectively lead interdisciplinary teams
- Apply public health principles and utilize community resources to manage
the health of populations and individual patients
- Prioritize self-care and maintain personal physical and mental wellness
