North Oaks Diagnostic Center Receives Facility Recognition Award from the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists

It was nominated by North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology students for its exceptional teaching environment.

The Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists (LSRT) recently selected North Oaks Diagnostic Center to receive its Facility Recognition Award. The diagnostic center was nominated for this esteemed acknowledgment by North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology students, who are completing their classroom and clinical instruction at the facility in preparation for careers in diagnostic imaging.

North Oaks Diagnostic Center, located at 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Drive in Hammond, offers bone densitometry, PET/CT scans, diagnostic cardiology, diagnostic X-ray, interventional radiology, lab services, mammography, MRI, neurodiagnostic, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and vein therapy.

The radiologic technology students praised North Oaks Diagnostic Center for its diverse learning opportunities and caring technologists. Among the many comments submitted were the following:

“Very educational setting with many opportunities to see multiple exams and equipment.”

“Fast-paced environment with high patient volume, so you see much diversity in exams.”

“The technologists are very in-depth with their teachings and always willing to answer all our questions.”

North Oaks Diagnostic Center was highlighted in LSRT’s official newsletter, Focal Spot Monitor, and will be formally recognized at the Annual LSRT Meeting held in New Orleans scheduled July 13-15.

Established in 1967, the North Oaks School of Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The school offers a comprehensive 24-month program that provides classroom and clinical instruction to prepare students for careers in the field of diagnostic imaging, which is used to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries. Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Certification examination and apply for Louisiana state licensure.
