Certified Nursing Assistant Comatrice Honored as Employee of the Month

Certified Nursing Assistant Comatrice has received North Oaks Health System's Employee of the Month Award for April 2021.

Comatrice joined the North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital team as a Certified Nursing Assistant on the Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation Unit in 2006 as has been a consistent presence ever since. Patients share that they appreciate the little things she does to individualize their care and encourage them to maintain a positive attitude along their rehabilitative journey.

“I believe our sole purpose on Earth is to help one another," shares Comatrice.

Born in Houston, Texas, she grew up in Amite and now lives in Hammond.

A graduate of the Nursing Assistant program at Compass Career College in Hammond, Comatrice also is a graduate of Northshore Technical Community College’s Pharmacy program.

Comatrice has two grown children – Kaeleja and Wardasha – and values time spent with her family most of all.

Cooking is her favorite pastime.

“Comatrice consistently gives her all to personalizing the care of each patient," asserts Michelle Gaudet, nursing operations director for North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital. "With a perpetually positive outlook, she never meets a stranger, greeting and treating every patient and coworker like a member of her own family.”
