Ortho/Neuro Unit Staff RN Megan Receives North Oaks Health System's Nurse Excellence Award for January 2018

"Watching a patient improve and being a part of his or her recovery is incredibly rewarding," Megan shares.
Megan joined the North Oaks team in 2010 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She became a Medicine Unit Nurse Tech in 2012. After nursing school graduation in 2013, she continued to work on the unit as a Staff RN. In 2014, she transferred to the Ortho/Neuro Unit to expand her skills in the care of postoperative patients.
Megan graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
As a member of the health system’s Nursing Shared Governance Clinical Practice Council, Megan is helping to ensure care delivery that is safe and of the highest standards.
Megan lives in Ponchatoula and enjoys spending time with her family and her boyfriend, Garrett. She also likes to shop, fish and play the guitar.
“Megan is highly regarded by her peers as an exceptional role model," affirms Heidi Morreale, Clinical Nurse Manager of the Ortho/Neuro Unit. "Even when it is not asked of her, she is always there to lend a hand and provide extra support.”
