Curriculum

Our curriculum combines hands-on clinical training, interdisciplinary collaboration and structured didactics to prepare residents for real-world practice across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The following schedule details our curriculum by residency year. Read our comprehensive list of required and elective rotations here.


PGY-1

  • Wards – 4 Months
  • Critical Care – 1 Month
  • Night Float – 1 Month
  • Cardiology – 1 Month
  • Gastroenterology – 1 Month
  • IM Clinic – 1 Month
  • Nephrology – 1 Month
  • Required Subspecialty Experience, typically Endocrinology or Pulmonology – 1 Month
  • IE (Individualized Experience) – 1 Month

The PGY-1 curriculum follows a primarily structured rotation sequence. During PGY-2 and PGY-3, the timing of required clinical and subspecialty experiences may vary based on rotation availability, resident educational needs, career goals, and scheduling considerations. All residents complete the program’s required educational experiences before graduation.


PGY-2

  • IE (Individualized Experience) – 3 Months
  • Emergency Medicine – 1 Month
  • Required Clinical or Subspecialty Experiences – 3 Months
    • Required or advanced clinical experiences may include Cardiology Consults, Pain Management, Admissions and Research, Neurology, or a required subspecialty experience not completed during PGY-2.

*Residents will have one scheduled Continuity Clinic Day during each outpatient rotation.
