Having diabetes can increase a person’s risk for eye disease. In this meeting you will learn more about eye care, recommended screenings, risk factors and things you can do to reduce your risk of eye disease.
Guest Speaker: Addie Smith, OD
Monthly education group meetings are free and open to those with diabetes, their families and friends. Speakers from the community share valuable insight on current topics in health related to diabetes. These meetings also provide participants with an opportunity to share experiences, tips, ideas and concerns with others. A physician referral is not required.
Diabetes education meetings are held in the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center (located within North Oaks Diagnostic Center) at 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Drive in Hammond.
