North Oaks Sports Medicine is proud to announce the 2024-2025 Student-Athletes of the Year Lariah Robertson and Logan Freche.

Lariah Robertson graduated from Loranger High School as an Academic All-American with a 3.9 GPA. Robertson excelled in multiple varsity sports all four years of high school, including powerlifting, track and softball. Robertson played third base for the Lady Wolves softball team, powerlifted and competed in shotput and discus for track. She placed third in Division 4A at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Championships and was named to the All-District second team for softball. With a .362 batting average, one home run, 16 RBIs, 20 runs scored, five doubles, two triples and five stolen bases, Robertson was a consistent offensive force in her senior year.
Beyond athletics, Lariah was an active member of the Beta Club and the National Honor Society. She plans to continue her education at Southeastern Louisiana University.
Phillips, who also is the head coach for Loranger High School girls' powerlifting team, praises Lariah's character and influence.
“Lariah is the type of student-athlete everyone wants on their team. She is always kind and compassionate, while showing up for her teammates. She is a leader at powerlifting, always staying late to help the younger lifters learn and encourage them,” Phillips continues. “Since powerlifting and softball overlap, she spent many days bouncing back and forth between practices so she would not miss out. She would take her breaks in the school day to catch up on any practice she missed. But most of all, she’s a huge reason the powerlifting team has grown at Loranger. She is such a positive light and has a gift for building confidence in others.”

Logan Freche is a graduate of Oak Forest Academy in Amite, where he was voted “Mr. OFA” by his peers. Freche is pictured above with Oak Forest Academy’s Head Baseball Coach Brett Morgan.
Freche maintained a 4.0 GPA while excelling in varsity sports, including baseball, basketball and football. Over his four years on the varsity baseball team, Logan played multiple positions for the Yellowjackets—right-handed pitcher, first baseman and catcher. His notable achievements include a .391 batting average, 6 home runs, a 7-1 record on the mound with a 2.3 ERA, and striking out 65 batters in 42 innings.
He plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University, where he has signed to play baseball and will major in kinesiology, with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist.
Ami Brumfield, who is the North Oaks Sports Medicine athletic trainer for Oak Forest Academy, affirms that Freche has earned the trust and respect of every teacher and coach.
