North Oaks Welcomes 46 Teens as Junior Volunteers for the Summer

On June 3, North Oaks welcomed 46 teens to orientation for the health system's Junior Volunteer summer program.

This year’s junior volunteers represent 19 Louisiana high schools and five parishes—East Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Livingston, Tangipahoa and St. Tammany parishes. Junior volunteers also represent two homeschool programs and one Texas high school in Sugar Land.

“Our summer program offers teens, ages 14 to 17, a unique opportunity for community service where they work as a team, learn new skills and can get ideas for their future career paths,” explains North Oaks Volunteer Services Manager Malissa Gonzalez.

The 7-week volunteer program will run from June 9 to July 25.
