Dr. Kristin A. Signater Joins North Oaks Pulmonology

Kristin A. Signater, MD, has joined staff of North Oaks Pulmonology, a department of North Oaks Medical Center. Dr. Signater is accepting new patients.
A New Orleans native, Dr. Signater is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease through the American College of Internal Medicine. She specializes in diagnosing, treating and managing the care of patients with lung-related medical conditions that affect breathing, including asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia. Dr. Signater also has a special interest in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung disease with expertise in the use of endobronchial ultrasound and bronchoscopy as diagnostic tools.
Citing an intense interest in emerging treatments and technologies, Dr. Signater explains, “Treating patients with respiratory and critical care conditions requires a unique blend of medical expertise, problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly and decisively. I am dedicated to providing individualized care that takes into account my patients’ medical needs, along with their values, preferences and goals.”
Dr. Signater continues, “I have a passion for continuous learning and staying at the forefront of medical advances. I am excited about the opportunity to expand my knowledge, skill and expertise at a health system like North Oaks that emphasizes these priorities and invests in the resources necessary to provide patients with the best possible care.”
Following her graduation from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Dr. Signater completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. This experience preceded a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where she served on the LSU Tumor Board, a statewide effort to inform and guide cancer-prevention strategies.
Professionally, Dr. Signater is a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and the National Medical Association.
North Oaks Pulmonology Clinic is located on the fourth floor of the North Oaks Clinic Building at 15813 Paul Vega, MD, Dr. in Hammond.
