Patient Access Supervisor Lindsey Honored as Employee of the Month

Patient Access Supervisor Lindsey has received North Oaks Health System's Employee of the Month Award for September 2022.

Lindsey joined North Oaks in 2012 as a Plaza Orthopedic Clinic Medical Office Specialist. She advanced to Epic Trainer for the Physician Group before transferring to the Financial Assistance Center as Secretary. Six months later, she became a Biller. From there, she joined Patient Access as a Trainer and was promoted to Supervisor in 2019.

“Determination and leaders who saw my potential helped mold me into the professional I am today,” Lindsey shares.

Currently, she serves on the health system’s Patient Experience Committee.

"Genuine care and a kind word goes a long way in bringing comfort to others," Lindsey explains.

Born in New Orleans, Lindsey graduated from John Ehret High School in Marrero. About 15 years ago, she began working in the medical field by chance while still living in Marrero.

“I realized I loved the work and that I excelled at customer service,” explains Lindsey.

Hammond is now home to Lindsey and her sons, 16-year-old Landon and 12-year-old Logan.

Away from work, Lindsey values time spent with her family and friends.

“One of North Oaks’ biggest cheerleaders, Lindsey’s patient-centric mindset, enthusiasm and love for her work is evident to everyone she encounters," asserts Melissa Smith, patient access director. "She loves promoting staff success through education and empowerment and goes out of her way to ensure positive patient experiences.”
