Charge Nurse Brittany Honored with Nurse Excellence Award

Charge Nurse Brittany has received North Oaks Health System's Nurse Excellence Award for October 2020.

Brittany joined the Medicine Unit team as a Staff Registered Nurse in 2013. She was promoted to night shift Charge Nurse on the unit in 2016.

“I love working on the Medicine Unit because of the amazing teamwork,” she explains. “We’re one big family taking care of our patients like they are members of it.”

With a passion for helping people, Brittany prepared for her chosen career by earning a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University.

"Teamwork is everything to me," shares Brittany.

Hammond is home to Brittany, her husband Scott and their sons Bryce, 17, and Skyler, 8.

Making memories with her family and enjoying the outdoors are her favorite pastimes.

“Brittany is admired for her ‘can do’ attitude and affinity for mentoring new staff members, providing the support and guidance necessary to set them up for success," affirms Clinical Nurse Manager Shana Hernandez. "She leads by her own example and promotes an atmosphere of mutual respect and teamwork.”
