Surgery Center Staff RN Jessica Receives Nurse Excellence Award

North Oaks Surgery Center Staff RN Jessica has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award.

"I have known since I was 6 that I wanted to work in the medical field. The care I received for my own health problems as a child inspired my drive to help others in their time of need,” Jessica shares.

In 2003, Jessica joined North Oaks as a Staff Registered Nurse on the Medicine Unit and went on to join the Operating Room team in 2005. She accepted her current position with North Oaks Surgery Center in 2014.

A resident of Albany, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from William Carey College in New Orleans.

Whether playing in her backyard or at the baseball park, Jessica treats every day as an adventure with her three sons — Karson, 9; Kole, 7; and Kullen, 20 months.

To Jessica, being an advocate for her patients means treating them like family while providing comfort, easing any anxiety and answering their questions.

"Always a patient advocate, nothing is more important to Jessica than her patients and their families," affirms North Oaks Surgery Center Clinical Nurse Manager Beverly Caldwell.
