Physician Spotlight: Dr. D’Antoni C. Dennis, Otolaryngologist

A Hammond resident, Dr. D’Antoni Dennis joined Drs. Jacques Peltier, Jeffrey LaCour, Leslie Wood, FNP-BC and Ashley Bratton, FNP-C at North Oaks ENT & Allergy Clinic in 2013 after completing an Otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he also earned a master’s degree. He received his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. 

Dr. Dennis treats both children and adults and helps patients manage allergies and sinus infections, voice disorders, skin lesions, and hearing and balance disorders, as well as performs facial trauma procedures. He has a special interest in head and neck surgery, including Balloon Sinuplasty™ and thyroid disorders. 

Because family is such an important part of Dr. Dennis’ life, his proudest personal achievement is his 18-year marriage to his high school sweetheart, Shantelle. They are the parents of 16-year-old Kaiden, 12-year-old Kacie and 8-year-old Landon.

“I love spending time with my family. I am a huge Saints fan, and so we will get together and watch the games. My three siblings and their families are there too,” Dr. Dennis shares. “It’s the reason I’ll never leave Louisiana.”

Every Sunday, Dr. Dennis and his family gather at his parents’ home in St. James Parish. But the time together is even sweeter during football season, especially with a Saints victory.

He attributes his strong work ethic and commitment to family to his parents, Leona and Charles, and considers his father his mentor.

“The thing I like most about my job is helping patients. Nothing is better than having a happy patient,” Dr. Dennis adds.

Dr. Dennis’ professional achievements include:

• Recognized as 2016-2017 Outstanding Young Alumnus at his alma mater, Dillard University in New Orleans
• Named as North Oaks Physician of the Year in 2021
• Appointed Chief of Staff in 2024

Dr. Dennis enjoys:

• Coaching his son in basketball and flag football at Chappapeela Sports Park 
• Teaching youth ministry at his church
• “Teaching is my passion,”
• Dr. Dennis admits. “I enjoy teaching my patients about their disease process. I enjoy teaching medical students and young doctors.”
