Critical Care Registered Nurse Kyra Honored with Nurse Excellence Award

Critical Care Registered Nurse Kyra has received North Oaks Health System's Nurse Excellence Award for June 2023.

Kyra joined the North Oaks team as a Nurse Tech on the Medicine Unit in April 2019. After graduation from nursing school, she took a position on the Medicine Unit as a Staff Registered Nurse. In 2021, she transferred to the Emergency Department.

“Teamwork is the key to creating seamless and compassionate patient care,” shares Kyra.

Kyra explains that she was drawn to the diverse and dynamic nature of the nursing profession because it offers opportunities for continuous learning and growth.

She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology before earning an associate degree in Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit.

Baton Rouge is home to Kyra, her husband Eldrid and their son Ivy, 18 months old.

Professionally, she belongs to the Emergency Nurses Association.

Family time is her priority away from work.
