Nurse Practitioner Alexandra Battalora Joins North Oaks Cardiovascular Institute

Nurse Practitioner Alexandra Battalora, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C, has joined North Oaks Cardiovascular Institute.

Battalora joins a team comprising Cardiologists Nidal Abi Rafeh, Jherie D. Ducombs, Bruce Ennis, Georges KhoueiryWilliam P. Kopfler and James M. Parker; Cardiothoracic and Peripheral Vascular Surgeon Jose Mena; fellow Nurse Practitioners Dona Hill, Jean Genzale, Kristen King, Travis King and Jasmine Severan; and Physician Assistants Donna Foster and Olivia Buquoi.

Together, these providers specialize in providing comprehensive heart health care, including heart disease prevention and management, diagnostic cardiology services, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care. Battalora worked for six years as a critical care nurse at North Oaks Medical Center on the medical intensive care and intermediate care units before becoming a nurse practitioner in 2023.

She earned a master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. As part of her curriculum, she completed clinical rotations in cardiology, hospital medicine, pulmonology and critical care at North Oaks Medical Center. She received dual certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Previously, Battalora earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an associate degree in nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit. She also obtained the credentials of progressive care certified nurse through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Professionally, she is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Nurse practitioners are nationally certified, state-licensed medical professionals who can practice independently.

North Oaks Cardiovascular Institute is located in Suite 403 of the North Oaks Clinic Building at 15813 Paul Vega, MD, Drive on the North Oaks Medical Center campus in Hammond. Clinic hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm weekdays.
