Operating Room Circulator Taylor Honored with Nurse Excellence Award

Operating Room Circulator Taylor Honored with Nurse Excellence Award

Operating Room Circulator Taylor has received North Oaks Health System's Nurse Excellence Award for August 2022.

Taylor joined the North Oaks Medical Center Medicine Unit team as a Staff Registered Nurse in 2020. She transferred to Surgical Services in 2021 as an Operating Room Circulator. In this role, Taylor is a member of a multidisciplinary team that ensures all of the necessary resources are in the surgical theater to provide the best care and outcome for each patient.

"I want to be a light for others," shares Taylor.

For the majority of her time at North Pike High School in Summit, Mississippi, Taylor aspired to become part of a surgical team. She stayed true to her dreams by graduating from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit with an associate degree in Nursing.

“My maternal grandparents are both cancer survivors. They have shared with me how loving, caring and understanding their nurses were during that scary and difficult time in their lives,” shares Taylor. “I strive to emulate their nurses’ examples by making every patient encounter as reassuring as possible so they know they are in great hands.”

A newlywed, Taylor and her husband Conner reside in Tylertown, Mississippi. Naturally, she prioritizes away from work for her new family and also enjoys reading, the outdoors and trying new restaurants with Conner.

"Known for exceeding expectations, Taylor is responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during surgical procedures," asserts Robert LeBlanc, clinical nurse manager. "Always smiling, always positive; her patients consistently praise her expertise and share with us how safe they feel in her care.”
