As North Oaks President/Chief Executive Officer Michele Sutton explains, the pay increase reflects a longstanding strategic decision to position the health system as a local market leader and outpace the federal minimum wage rate. Nearly 800 employees across the health system will receive an overall pay increase as a result of this initiative.

“Retaining our dedicated employees and recruiting new talent to join us are paramount to our mission of improving lives,” Sutton affirms. “Our compensation practices reflect our appreciation for the hard work of our employees and the difference they make.”

Ron Macaluso, chairman of North Oaks Board of Commissioners, continues, “Our employees are the reason our health system has become a regional referral center worthy of the local, state and national accolades we continue to receive for innovation, safety, quality and patient experiences.”

Most recently, North Oaks clinics received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award® for the fourth consecutive year. As recipients of this award, North Oaks clinics are ranked among the top 5 percent of health care services nationally in sustaining the highest level of patient satisfaction over a one-year period.

North Oaks Health System is one of the area’s largest and most progressive health systems. Located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge on the Northshore, North Oaks comprises a 330-bed acute care hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, a 27-bed medical rehabilitation hospital, a freestanding surgical center, two diagnostic centers and the largest multispecialty provider clinic in the region.
