King and LeMeunier Join North Oaks Cardiology

Kristen King and Erickia LeMeunier of Hammond have joined North Oaks Cardiology as certified nurse practitioners. New adult patients are now being accepted. To schedule an appointment or get information on accepted insurance plans, call (985) 230-APPT [2778].

King has belonged to the North Oaks Health System team for seven years. She comes to North Oaks Cardiology from the North Oaks Medical Center Hospital Medicine program, where she has worked as a nurse practitioner for the past year.

Before that, King was a staff registered nurse for the hospital’s Surgical Intensive Care Unit, where she distinguished herself as a charge nurse and a preceptor helping to orient new nurses to the unit.

King graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She earned a master’s degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult-Gerontological Acute Care through the University of South Alabama in Mobile, where she is currently pursuing a doctorate in the same field. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult-Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She also has completed certification as a stroke nurse through the National Institutes of Health and as a trauma nurse through the Emergency Nurses Association.

LeMeunier comes to North Oaks Cardiology with two years of experience as a nurse practitioner working for hospitals in New Orleans and Baton Rouge in the areas of pre-admissions testing and critical care. She is no stranger to North Oaks, having worked as a staff registered nurse on the Intermediate Care and Medical Intensive Care Units at North Oaks Medical Center for six years while in school pursuing her master’s degree.

Also a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, LeMeunier likewise earned a master’s degree in Nursing through the University of South Alabama in Mobile, achieving dual certification as a Family Practice and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

North Oaks Cardiology is located on the fourth floor of the North Oaks Clinic Building in Suite 403 at 15813 Paul Vega, M.D., Drive. Clinic hours of operation are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays.

Nurse Practitioners are nationally certified, state-licensed medical professionals who can practice independently. Nurse practitioners are credentialed to manage the overall care of their patients, diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications and provide education to their patients on disease prevention and management.
