Is your teen starting to drive?

Sudden Impact is an interactive program, in partnership with the Louisiana State Police and University Medical Center, that educates teens about the dangers of impaired driving, substance abuse, not wearing seat belts, and distracted driving.

Participants will interact with trauma team members, the Louisiana State Police, and trauma survivors. Through real-life scenarios and engaging activities, they'll learn how to prevent accidents and save lives. Join us to gain the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe and make a positive impact on your community. This class is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. 

Class will start at 8:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM. (arrive by 7:45 AM)

Light breakfast (donuts and granola bars) and Lunch (chicken strips and FF) will be provided.

The Sudden Impact Program consists of presentations and experiences for multiple age groups and audiences to lessen the number of injuries and fatalities related to motor vehicle crashes. Developed and maintained by the trauma team at University Medical Center, New Orleans, each presentation or event is provided through an invaluable partnership between the local hospital/trauma center and Louisiana State Police. The program is supported by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. The program is active in all 9 LSP Troop areas and in 13 hospitals statewide.
