Dr. James Murray Joins North Oaks Interventional Radiology

James Murray, MD, has joined the North Oaks Imaging Associates staff and will practice within the North Oaks Interventional Radiology Clinic. Dr. Murray is accepting new patients.

Dr. Murray is board-certified in diagnostic and interventional radiology through the American Board of Radiology. Interventional radiologists use minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. In addition to aiding in diagnosis, these specialists can identify and correct vascular diseases. They also can deliver cancer treatments directly to tumors.

Citing an intense interest in utilizing treatments and technologiesto help patients, Dr. Murray explains, “On a daily basis, I can change a patient's disease course by performing advanced image guided procedures. It still amazes me how interventional radiology can incorporate technology, imaging expertise, bedside medicine, and innovation to make it happen.”

Dr. Murray continues, “I talk to every patient I encounter, right at their bedside or clinic, to get a much clearer picture of their expectations and how their disease affects them. Whether it be a procedure, further testing, medication, or a referral, my goal is to make my patients feel better, live longer, and enjoy life.”

Following his graduation from the University of Texas School of Medicine at Galveston, Dr. Murray completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. He then completed his vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Baylor Scott and White Health in Temple, Texas.

Professionally, Dr. Murray is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American Medical Association.

The North Oaks Interventional Radiology Clinic is in the North Oaks Outpatient Diagnostic Center, 15837 Paul Vega, MD, Drive, Suite 100, Hammond, La.

Clinic hours of operation are Tuesdays from 8 am to 12 pm.
