Canale and Pegler Appointed to the North Oaks Health System Board of Commissioners

The Tangipahoa Parish Council has appointed Tonia Canale, BS, RN, PCMH CCE, and Jeffrey Pegler to the Board of Commissioners for North Oaks Health System. North Oaks also is known as Hospital Service District No. 1 of Tangipahoa Parish.
The council appointed Canale at its meeting on Monday, Aug. 12, and Pegler at its meeting on Monday, August 26. Canale and Pegler are replacing commissioners Terry Harper and Ron Orsi, who retired upon completion of their terms effective Aug. 31.
As owner and operator of Bridea Healthcare Consulting, LLC, Tonia Canale draws upon her 48 years of professional nursing administration experience in the acute care, home health, nursing home, public health and quality settings to advise clients.
“I look forward to assisting the largest healthcare organization in Tangipahoa Parish in fulfilling its mission, vision and values through shared experiences gained through my many years as a professional nurse, family caregiver and community representative,” Canale affirms.
Canale’s expertise has led to other prominent appointments, including the Medicaid Quality Adult Medicine Subcommittee for Louisiana, the Veterans Affairs—New Orleans Hospital Project’s Steering Committee on Medical Staff Credentialing, as well as the Governor’s Taskforce on Sickle Cell Disease and Daughters of Charity Quality Improvement Board.
Canale graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a patient-centered medical home certified content expert and volunteers with the Independence Italian Cultural Museum.
Jeff Pegler is vice president of operations with Louisiana-based Great American RV Superstores, where he has led process implementation and workforce development initiatives that have contributed to the company’s reputation as a national industry leader.
During the span of his 20-year career with Great American RV Superstores, the company has grown from a single-to a multi-point dealer with eleven locations across five states. Beyond Louisiana, Great American RV Superstores operates in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and Tennessee. RVBusiness also has recognized Great American RV Superstores as a Top 50 Dealer national award winner seven times.

Pegler is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration.
