Ty Kennon has joined North Oaks Health System as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

Kennon brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to North Oaks in healthcare marketing, communications and brand development at prominent health systems located across the United States.

In his new role, Kennon will helm the North Oaks teams responsible for the development and implementation of strategies and key community partnerships linked to marketing, communications, public relations and business development, as well as patient advocacy and experience.

“We are delighted to welcome Ty to our team. With his strategic mindset, expertise and perspective from other markets, he will play a key role in advancing our reputation as the region’s most trusted partner for exceptional patient experiences,” affirms North Oaks Health System’s President & CEO Michele Kidd Sutton, FACHE. “Our marketing, business development and communications initiatives are in great hands under Ty's dynamic leadership.”

Kennon comes to North Oaks from Phoenix Children’s Health System in Arizona, one of the top-ranked and fastest-growing pediatric health systems in the U.S., where he championed the system’ rebranding efforts and an array of multichannel legacy and digital media advertising campaigns amid a period of rapid expansion. Other accomplishments included successful marketing launches for numerous facilities.

Previously, Kennon served as Vice President of System Marketing for MedStar Health, the largest healthcare provider in Maryland and Washington, D.C.; Vice President of Marketing Planning & Service Line Strategy for Mercy Health, one of the largest Catholic health systems in the U.S.; and Vice President of Marketing for Northern Virginia’s leading healthcare provider, Inova. Experience at other top healthcare institutions, like Scripps Health in San Diego and Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, set the foundation for his career.

Kennon graduated from the prestigious Advisory Board Fellowship Program based in Washington, D.C. The 18-month, cohort-based program is regarded as a premier leader development experience for healthcare executives. He also completed the Scripps Health Leadership Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

Kennon is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, and a past member of the American Marketing Association’s Executive Leadership Summit, the Public Relations Society of America and The Health Management Academy.
