Dr. Anu Menon, MD, Joins North Oaks Infectious Disease Clinic

Anu Menon, MD, has joined North Oaks Infectious Disease Clinic, a department of North Oaks Medical Center. She is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Menon, please call 985-230-2778.

Board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Menon brings extensive expertise in managing a wide range of infectious conditions, including multidrug-resistant infections, pneumonia, tuberculosis, urinary tract infections, wound infections, bone and joint infections, and HIV/AIDS.

“I sincerely strive to provide compassionate and non-stigmatizing care to people living with HIV. The long-term relationships I cultivate with patients are one of the best aspects of being an infectious disease provider,” Dr. Menon shares.

Dr. Menon completed her undergraduate studies in Cell and Molecular Biology at Tulane University, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, where she also graduated summa cum laude.

Her postgraduate training includes an internship in Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Tulane University. Dr. Menon has held significant academic and clinical positions, including her role as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Before joining North Oaks, Dr. Menon served as a staff physician at Providence VA Medical Center and held numerous leadership roles in infection control and antimicrobial stewardship. Her professional affiliations include the Infectious Diseases Society of America, where she was recently elected to Fellowship, and the HIV Medicine Association.

North Oaks Infectious Disease Clinic is located on the second floor of the North Oaks Clinic Building at 15813 Paul Vega, MD, Dr. in Hammond. Clinic hours of operation are weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm.
