DeLaSalle Joins New Leaf Psychiatry & Counseling Center

Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Amber DeLaSalle, PMHNP-BC, RN-BSN, has joined New Leaf Psychiatry & Counseling Center and is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, call (985) 230-7495.

Board certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, DeLaSalle is a U.S. Army veteran with nearly two decades of patient care experience. As a nurse practitioner with New Leaf, she will specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals, ages 18 and older, with mental, emotional and behavioral conditions, such as stress, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, developmental disability.

DeLaSalle began her medical career as a medic with the Mississippi Army National Guard in 2003 and saw two combat deployments to Iraq in 2005 and 2009. For the past eight years, she has worked at Northshore hospitals as a bedside nurse in a variety of areas, including long-term care and behavioral health.

DeLaSalle earned a master’s degree to become a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Walden University based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Before graduating from Alcorn State University in Natchez, Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ashford University in Chandler, Arizona.

New Leaf Pyschiatry and Counseling Center is a clinic of North Oaks Health System. Other New Leaf providers include: Psychiatrist Vic Linden, M.D., and fellow Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Kevin Mixon, APRN, FPMHNP. The clinic is located at 15770 Paul Vega, M.D., Drive in Suite 202 of North Oaks Office Plaza on the North Oaks Medical Center campus. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
