Socrates Zapata Campusano, MD, Joins North Oaks Neurology Clinic

Neurologist Socrates Zapata Campusano, MD, has joined the practice of North Oaks Neurology Clinic in Hammond. He will begin seeing patients on Friday, Feb. 1.

Dr. Zapata, as he is known professionally, has practiced medicine in the New Orleans area for more than 7 years. He also served as Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Louisiana State University in New Orleans for 3 years. He is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Along with fellow North Oaks Neurology Clinic Physician Patricio Espinosa, MD, Dr. Zapata specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions including seizures, headaches, movement disorders, dementia and neuromuscular conditions. Dr. Zapata has a special interest in treatment of stroke and neuromuscular diseases.

“The cornerstone of my approach to patient care is respect,” Dr. Zapata emphasizes. “I believe in showing patients the compassion and dedication they deserve, as well as being their advocate to get them the help they need.”

North Oaks Neurology Clinic’s medical staff also includes Nurse Practitioners Jennifer Burtch, APRN, AP, and Sandra Capps, APRN, FNP. The clinic is located in Hammond at 15813 Paul Vega MD, Drive, Suite 400. Appointments are available on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
