Today is Thursday, April 9th, 2020.
- State Stats: There are 17,030 confirmed cases in 63/64 parishes, with 652
deaths. As of yesterday, 1,983 people were hospitalized with confirmed
or suspected cases with 490 on ventilators. The number hospitalized and
on vents both decreased.
- The Louisiana Department of health, Board of Medical Examiners and Board
of Nursing extended the emergency order mandating no visitors and restricting
elective procedures through 4/30/2020.

North Oaks has tested 1,159 people, of whom 219 were positive. There are
280 results pending. There are 37 COVID-19 positive patients in the hospital,
along with 22 patients under investigation. Seven (7) are on vents (up
1 from yesterday). We had zero deaths yesterday.
- 45 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospitals. Yesterday
we had 7 new admits of COVID-19 positive/PUI yesterday, and discharged
4 patients.
- We have 49 employees self-isolating or recovering at home. Twelve employees
were cleared to return to work yesterday.
- Population health received 120 calls yesterday and conducted 41 video visits.
Fifty-seven patients visited the walk-in clinics. The drive through performed
87 screens yesterday, and has 30 on the schedule for today, as of this morning.
- Both Drs. Kahn and Zacharia are up on the myChart virtual visit platform,
and 13 additional primary care physicians will come online next week.
- An additional supply of Healthcare Heroes signs will be in next week. When
they are received we’ll provide pickup instructions.
- There will be NO LEADERSHIP call tomorrow at 10 a.m. If something unanticipated
happens over the weekend, we’ll send a first alert text and schedule a call.
- The MICU-2 pilot did not happened yesterday after all, after physicians
determined it wasn’t safe to move any of our patients. Stay tuned
– we’ll let you know when this happens.
- Staffing continues to be good – we are not having to work short.
- Dr. Jherie Ducombs will be filming COVID-19 update #8 today. Look for that
on Facebook.

Non-patient care areas will be off Friday, April 10th in observance of Good Friday. PLEASE BE A SOCIAL DISTANCING ADVOCATE!

and continue to social distance. Make the commitment to “be together

Supplies are adequate. Please be judicial in their use. Adhere to CDC guidelines
and use the COVID-19 toolkit and Infection Prevention as resources.
Remember that we are using a variety of sources for supplies, and colors
may vary. We are taking great care to ensure that there is no variation
in efficacy and that employees will be well protected before supplies
are distributed.
- EASTER HOURS: The Hammond Walk-in Clinic will be open Easter Sunday from
8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- MODIFIED HOURS: Kanna reports that the change in hours at the Walker Walk-in
Clinic went smoothly. Operating hours are 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. until
further notice.

HOLIDAY/WEEKEND ENTRANCES: Employees are reminded that the Main Entrance
(Signature Building) will be
closed Good Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please enter through the Tower Lobby (6 a.m. – 8 p.m.) or the Emergency
Department (24/7).
