  • Today is Friday, April 17, 2020
  • On Monday, April 20, North Oaks will celebrate its 60th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, Board Chair Ron Macaluso is purchasing lunch and dinner for all employees on Monday. Look for a special greeting from Michele Sutton on Facebook Monday.
  • State Stats: There have been 22,532 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, in 64/64 parishes, with 1,156 deaths. There are 1,914 patients hospitalized with 396 on vents.
  • North Oaks Stats: There are 32 COVID-19 positive patients in-house, and 8 PUI; 2 patients are on vents. We successfully discharged 5 patients yesterday, and extubated one (1) patient. There were no COVID-19 related deaths yesterday. We’ve performed 1,476 tests and 363 were positive, 60 are pending results. Bed availability for the weekend is good.
  • The drive-through testing station will perform 52 backlogged tests today, and then suspend operations until more testing supplies are received.
  • Employee Wellness reports that 27 staff are monitoring at home and three (3) employees were cleared to return to work yesterday. Fit testing of the new N95 masks is going well.
  • Population health received 70 calls yesterday and performed 20 video visits. There were 36 patients at the walk-in clinics.
  • NOPG reports that all PCPs have been trained on myChart telemed. Next week ENT, Cardiology and Psychiatry will be brought on line.
  • Sports Physical Day, which was scheduled for 4/25, has been cancelled.
  • Supplies are adequate, but please use judiciously. Supply of N95 is good.
  • Please remember to use the COVID Disaster Hours time sheet to record hours worked on COVID-19 related issues. Be sure to describe the work done and ensure the employee has signed the form.
  • Employees working this weekend should use the Tower Entrance. The Main Entrance (Signature Building) will be closed.
  • Postings for non-essential positions will be pulled to allow HR to flex more staff. Once business returns to normal operations, those positions will be re-posted and actively recruited.
