If a hurricane approaches our community, North Oaks will activate a public information line – (985) 230-INFO [4636] – to provide helpful medical information, including:
- Medical preparations to make before the storm, including recommendations to help protect yourself and others from COVID-19
- Special needs/medical shelters information
- Availability of health care services at North Oaks facilities and North Oaks physician offices (i.e., elective procedure cancellations, closure and reopening dates)
- Availability of local pharmacy services and other medical resources in the recovery phase.

Hurricane season runs from June 1-November 30. As part of your medical preparations for hurricane season, download and complete the “Personal Medical Information Form" and store it in your waterproof disaster supplies kit to help you keep track of your health information wherever you are.
