The Louisiana Hospital Association announced its 2018-2019 Board of Trustee
officers and newly-elected board members during its annual membership
meeting on July 23.
Michele Kidd Sutton, FACHE, president and CEO of North Oaks Health System was elected as one of three
At-Large Trustees to serve a two-year term.
“The LHA thanks our new and returning board members for working
to improve the health of Louisiana,” said LHA President & CEO
Paul A. Salles. “Their commitment to excellence will help Louisiana
hospitals save lives, lower cost and improve patient care throughout our
David L. Callecod, FACHE, president of Lafayette General Health, will serve
as the LHA Board of Trustees Chair. He received the gavel from James E.
Cathey, Jr., CEO Emeritus of North Oaks in Hammond, who recently announced
his retirement from the health system effective Aug. 1. Phyllis L. Peoples,
MSN, RN, president & CEO of Terrebonne General Medical Center in Houma,
will serve as the Association’s Chair-Elect, and Parker A. Templeton,
FACHE, president and CEO of Iberia Medical Center, was elected Treasurer.
Beyond officers, the LHA Board of Trustees is composed of At-Large and
District Trustees. In addition to Sutton, Kirk Soileau, FACHE, CEO of
Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, and Dana D. Williams, CEO of Jennings
American Legion Hospital, were elected as At-Large Trustees. Jeremy Tinnerello,
RN, MSN, CEN, president and CEO of Glenwood Regional Medical Center, was
elected to a two-year term as the Northeast District Trustee.
The following individuals were re-elected to serve a second term as District Trustees:
- Bayou District: Mary Ellen Pratt, FACHE, president and CEO of St. James
Parish Hospital in Lutcher;
- New Orleans District: Warner L. Thomas, FACHE, president & CEO of Ochsner
Health System in New Orleans; and
- Southwest District: Scott M. Smith, Louisiana Market CEO LifePoint Health,
who oversees Mercy Regional Medical Center and Teche Regional Medical Center.
Established in 1926, the Louisiana Hospital Association is a non-profit
organization representing hospitals and healthcare provider groups across
