Special Programs

Along with traditional therapies, North Oaks Outpatient Rehabilitation offers a variety of special services to educate and assist with specific, individual needs. Some of the special services we offer include:

Myofascial Release

Uses hands-on release techniques and movement therapy that may help eliminate chronic pain and tension.

Industrial Rehabilitation

Helps injured workers return to work safely and effectively by providing prevention, treatment and education services.

LINK (A Day Rehabilitation Program)

Bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient rehabilitative care. It enables medically qualified patients to receive intensive therapy at North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital, and then return to the comfort of home and family in the evening. Transportation may be available if needed.

Driving Evaluation

Assesses and recommends a patient's ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Women's Health

Offers specialized treatment and education to mothers, mothers-to-be, post-breast surgery patients and women suffering from pelvic pain and incontinence.

Incontinence/Pelvic Pain

Focuses on incontinence issues related to pre- and post-pregnancy, age, diabetes, recurring urinary tract infections, post-menopause and abdominal surgery.

Balance Therapy

Aims to help individuals with complaints of unsteadiness resulting from inner ear problems, muscle weakness and sensory integration deficits.

Brain & Spine Program

Helps to improve the stength, coordination and balance for patient's with neurological disorders or injuries to the brain and spinal cord. These skills help to increase independence at home and in community settings.

The McKenzie Method (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy)

A non-surgical appproach to manage problems related to back, neck and extremities.

Certified Hand Therapy

Focuses on upper extremities, such as hands or arms, that have become impaired due to injury or disability.

Wheelchair Clinic

Let our therapists and vendors help you select a wheelcahir and seating system that best meets your needs.

Prosthetics & Orthotics Clinic

When your physician prescribes prosthetic and/or orthotic devices our therapists and vendors can help determine the best choice for you.

Foot Clinic

Therapists identify foot problems and provide education on preventing foot pain, calluses and blisters, sometimes through the use of customized footwear and shoe inserts.
