PET (Positron Emission Tomography)/CT is the latest, most advanced whole-body imaging technology used to diagnose and stage cancer. The scan combines PET imaging to detect actively growing cancer cells and CT imaging to provide a detailed picture of the inside of the body. The combination of data from the two scans provides a more complete picture for physicians to diagnose problems, determine the extent of disease, prescribe treatment and track progress.
North Oaks provides the professional interpretation support for Pet/CT services provided at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, conveniently located on the campus of North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.
