The North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital features a 27-bed Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation (CMR) Unit. The CMR Unit provides inpatient nursing and rehabilitative care for patients with a variety of conditions, including:

• Amputations
• Arthritis
• Brain Injuries
• Cardiac Conditions
• Congenital Conditions
• Joint Replacements
• Neurological Disorders
• Orthopedic Injuries
• Spinal Cord Injuries
• Strokes.

The CMR Unit has earned the highest possible accreditation awarded by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). And, once again, in 2005, the CMR Unit has exceeded regional and national standards for patient outcomes. As a means of benchmarking patients’ levels of function, the CMR Unit relies on Functional Independence Measurement Scores (FIM Scores). These scores indicate how well patients progress during their stay. Not only do North Oaks CMR Unit patients make greater functional improvements when compared to similar patients across the nation, but also they make greater functional improvements in fewer days than patients in other rehabilitation facilities.
