Since 1960, the Department of Laboratories at North Oaks Health System has been open to service the laboratory needs of our community and surrounding parishes. In an effort to provide the highest level of testing, our laboratory is accredited by:

• The Joint Commission
• College of American Pathologists (CAP)
• American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

Our 24-hours a day, 7 days a week schedule (including weekends and holidays) allows for fast turnaround of results.

• Average 2,600 tests performed daily
• Approximately 797,620 tests performed annually

Processing of lab results occurs within North Oaks Medical Center and the following locations are available for blood draws:

*Although walk-ins are welcome, pre-registration at North Oaks Diagnostic Center shortens the registration process, which may reduce wait times. You can pre-register by calling Patient Scheduling at (985) 230-7777, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Exception: If you are scheduled for “pre-op testing” before your surgery, please report to the main hospital. Remember to check in with Admissions when you arrive for any outpatient testing.
