North Oaks Hospice offers care to persons in the last phases of an incurable illness so they can live as fully and as comfortably as possible. Illnesses may include diagnoses such as end-stage lung, heart, kidney, liver or neurological diseases as well as cancer. Most patients receive care at home where the North Oaks Hospice team of trained professionals, including physicians, nurses, counselors, therapists, aides and volunteers provide medical care and support services not only to the patient, but also to the entire family. Services are provided to families for 1 year following the death of their loved one through bereavement counseling and support groups. Family members are also invited to a special Hospice Memorial Service each spring and a Holiday Remembrance Celebration during the Christmas season to bring hospice families and hospice staff together each year.
The North Oaks Hospice team of professionals focuses on the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the patient and emphasizes the importance of the patient’s quality of life.
If you know someone who is coping with a terminal illness and is in need of Hospice care, call the North Oaks Hospice office at (985) 230-7620 for further information and assistance or to schedule a complimentary evaluation with no obligation.
