If more invasive treatment is needed, the Surgical Services Team is prepared to perform cardiovascular surgeries on- or off-pump as appropriate for the patient.
Coronary Artery Bypass Graft or “CABG” – Often referred to as bypass surgery, a cardiovascular surgeon locates the blockage(s) and grafts a harvested vein (typically from the patient’s leg) to direct blood flow around the blockage.
Heart Valve Replacement – Routinely performed to replace a defective heart valve – one that doesn’t open or close properly.
